4 (Moderate)15 km return470 metresPerhaps one of the most visually amazing/rewarding hikes in the Kananaskis Area. Trail begins at the Burstall Pass parking lot located along the Smith-Dorrien/Spray Trail (Hwy 742).  This trip is a long one, but will be worth it to hikers who are ready for the challenge.  We'll see many peaks, cross a stream or two, and experience alpine meadows like never before.  Experience true karst limestone topography as we ascend above treeline. Sure to be a treat - this trip is one of the best available.

Alternate Hike: Headwall Lakes
Usually available from July on.

Directions to trailhead:
From Canmore, head south, climbing up towards the Canmore Nordic Centre. Continue past the Nordic Centre and ascend Hwy 742, climbing past Whiteman's Gap and along the Spray Lakes.  From the Nordic Centre to the Burstall Pass Day use area is 41.5 km, and the turnoff is on the right.
