Survival Courses

A major concern for some people that venture into the outdoors is that they don't feel that they are adequately knowledgeable about how to survive beyond a few hours. How do you deal with cold? What comes first - shelter, signalling or food? How do you cope with stress and make decisions that will keep you and your group alive? Survival skills are also a growing concern in a society that becomes increasingly dependent on electricity and imported food.  The lecture and outing are designed to help people of all ages understand what to do first in an emergency or otherwise that requires you to survive. Learn about effective shelter building techniques, signalling strategies, and uses of plants, plus try your hand at making a wilderness meal out of what is readily available in our own Rocky Mountains.
